Since it is second quarter, the no name board will be used the way it should be, and the way I introduced it to students at the beginning of the year. This means I will no longer be reminding students every day to check it, or going up to it myself and identifying what belongs to who and asking them to put their name on it. From now on, if something has no name on it, I will clip it to the no name board. Every Monday morning, before a new week starts, I'll take everything from the no name board and recycle it. If something has not been claimed by that point, it gets thrown away and students will not be able to re-do the assignment or make it up. This has always been the rule, but I've been lenient as stated above. However, consistently, students are still not putting names on assignments, and I think having something recycled because it wasn't claimed might be a motivator for them to remember in the future.
Students are free to check the no name board when they come in to class on their way to their seat, or when they're leaving class. They can also check it during any free time we have (Friday game time, AR time, etc.). However, they cannot check it during a lesson or while they should be working on an assignment (this includes morning work for 303).
I will review this policy with all students tomorrow. Students should be very familiar with it already, since these were the rules stated at the beginning of the year, but just in case I will review this policy with all students tomorrow.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions!
